ABOUT USFood tastings are conducted every Friday from 4 pm-7 pm. Oceana recycles almost all of its waste. We try to maintain a scent free store for our customers and our staff. We use the least toxic cleaning products possible. Oceana underwrites the local public radio station KLCC/KLCO. Oceana Natural Food Cooperative is open to the public Monday-Friday 8 am-7 pm, Saturday 8 am-6 pm, and Sunday 10 am-6 pm. Oceana is a state of Oregon Corporation, subcategory Cooperative. Our philosophy is food for people, not for profit. Oceana has a board of directors that represents the members in maintaining the store's mission. The board of directors selects a manager to run the store. Members, who pay an annual contribution of $24, may special order from a wide variety of catalogs, pay reduced prices on member-only sale items, and request products by way of a "Product Request Board". Oceana Natural Food Cooperative operates a refrigerated truck which picks up food in Eugene and delivers food to other natural food stores between Eugene and the southern Oregon coast, between North Bend and Lincoln City, and between Eugene, Salem and Lincoln City. |

HOTSPOT Oceana Natural Food Cooperative was formed in 1977 and opened its first store. A group of people pooled their money to set up Newport's first purveyor of Organic food and food available in bulk. For 31 years, Oceana Natural Food Cooperative has specialized in selling Organic food. We have a buying policy that gives guidance to purchasing natural food: without chemical preservatives, flavorings, colorings, etc. The store purchases local products including cheese, soap, cards, produce, and more. The store's large bulk food selection provides a means for customers to purchase food without excess packaging. We stock wheat free, gluten free, and dairy free products for people with allergies. Oceana has a sit-down eating area with a salad bar and hot food bar on weekdays. Hot soup and baked goods are available daily. All of our prepared food is made in-house by our staff.
